Three ways an app logs in
Xtream Codes
Server URL, username and password typed into the app. The best option: channels, VOD, series and the TV guide load in one go. Explained.
M3U playlist
A single long link containing the channel list. Works almost everywhere, but the TV guide may need a separate EPG link. Explained.
MAC address
Smart TV apps show the TV’s MAC address; the playlist is linked to it on the app’s website. Handy on Samsung and LG.
How to choose your app
- On a Firestick or Android TV: start with IPTV Smarters Pro, move to TiviMate if you want the best TV guide.
- On an Apple device: IPTVX for the polish, GSE Smart IPTV if you want a free option.
- On a Samsung or LG TV: a MAC-based player such as Smart IPTV, SmartOne or HOT IPTV — or see our Smart TV guide.

Installing apps that are not in your store
Some players are not in the Amazon Appstore. On a Firestick or Android TV they are installed with the free Downloader app and a short code — see Downloader codes explained. Only download apps from their official sources, and never install an “IPTV app” that comes with channels already inside: that is not a player, it is a risk.

What is an IPTV app?
An IPTV app (or IPTV player) is a media player that shows the channels from your IPTV subscription. It contains no channels itself: you add your login, and the app downloads your channel list, TV guide and VOD library from the provider.
Which IPTV app is the best?
